MJC Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Need help in locating supplier in Australia for 260z Hood vents or anyone that wants to part with some? Quote
Ben Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Not that I'm in Sydney, but; http://www.mcgrathnissansutherland.com.au are probably your closest supplier. Whereas, http://www.grandnissan.com.au are mine Quote
MJC Posted January 4, 2012 Author Posted January 4, 2012 Thanks Ben, will give them a try, I rang a nissan dealer in Melbourne the other day and he laughed at me and said I had fat chance of any dealers stocking them, but I will give it a shot. Cheers Matt Quote
RBZ 260 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I rang a nissan dealer in Melbourne the other day and he laughed at me and said I had fat chance of any dealers stocking them, but I will give it a shot. Cheers Matt Tell the bastard to get of his fat arse and look up the numbers on the pc. Or change the dealer. He may be right none in stock in Aus but im pretty sure ex japan within 2 weeks. My nissan spare parts guy is brilliant. Most of the items i asked for still available.though cost on some stuff is quite exy. Let me know if u have issues with nissan and ill check with my guy. Quote
Ben Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well, that dealership certainly hires people with the right attitude... It was 5 years ago now, but I went to my local dealer and ordered a new vented bonnet, vents, rain shroud and fasteners. At the time, it was all ex-warehouse in AUS. Johnny, who do you use? (My guess would be Unley Nissan) Quote
RBZ 260 Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 Johnny, who do you use? (My guess would be Unley Nissan) Ben I follow Jim Roberts where ever he works He used to work at Main North but hes moved to Unley now and also got a promotion. Now spare parts manager at Unley Nissan. so yeah at the moment Unley is my nissan parts headquarters. Jim is a great guy, he will even go through troubles contacting Japan for parts if comes empty handed on their system. Most times items are still available in Japan. PS: MJC I may have a set somewhere. need to check first. Quote
Ben Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 What a guess! Terry Russell, (Parts Manager, Grand Nissan), has been tending to my rusty old Datsuns' needs since 1997. It's good that we've got 2 dealerships that put in the effort. Quote
MJC Posted January 5, 2012 Author Posted January 5, 2012 Thanks everyone, I spoke to Terry Russell this morning (thanks Ben) and he located some in Melbourne for me and are now in the post! what a great guy, I used to live in Adelaide and I do miss the service you mostly dont get in Sydney! Quote
bluerat Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I hear ya boy's, My local Nissan Dealers didn't know what a R200 diff was, and no you can't get anything for anything that old....got everything from Qld! Quote
Riceburner Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I've found most have no idea when it come to old parts. They can check stock in Japan and ship it in two weeks, pre payment is required though. I use Trevor at Brighton Nissan, he's never let me down so far Quote
Ben Posted January 5, 2012 Posted January 5, 2012 I hear ya boy's, My local Nissan Dealers didn't know what a R200 diff was, and no you can't get anything for anything that old....got everything from Qld! That's a worry, since they were fitted to R32/33/34 and S13/14/15 cars as short-noses... (amongst others!) Quote
