production of 260z

hey everyone..

i was just curious about if there were any production changes between earlier and later 260z'.

 

just small interior mods or anything??

The amp meter was changed to a voltmeter with the alternator light in the later 260's. Not sure if all 260's came with the console lid or if everyone removed them as they were prone to breakage.

door locks changed, doors changed, chassis changed, suspension changed - taller rear strut towers, inner front and rears guards/panel vary from year to year - also depends on the market/model of the car too.

 

As I have never owned a 2+2 this only applies 2 seaters and is going by the different models I have looked at/owned over the years

are most of the cosmetic stuff interchangable??

i bought a late 73 early 74 model 260z 2+2 (number 494 on the chasis) and ive also got another one at home which is a 76 and complete(but rusted beyond repair) i was wondering whether most these parts will interchange?
