RB30X Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Guys I need your support on this. I've had my eye on buying a set of 16 x 8 bronze Rota grid drifts for a while now like the ones on Stiva's zed. I love the way jap cars look with bronze rims on a white car. Anyway 17's would be nice but it's hard to find a good style 17 in a 4 x 114.3 and I've already got some wicked 16" Tyres. You can't argue with 1K delivered including wheel nuts. Now the time has come to buy them and I just can't do it, I don't know why. Do you guys think they'll suit or have any other suggestions? Not going flares so don't recommend 17 x 9.5 ;D Quote
potter260 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Just do it! You will be glad once you have them on the car. Where are you getting them from I might need some and they sound like the right price For me Quote
RB30X Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 Thanks mate. Have a gander in the rota Australia site. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 8, 2011 Moderators Posted June 8, 2011 Good thing is you aren't stuck with them for life...you can get them painted if you change your mind.. I'd go for it. Quote
Stivva Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Bronze and white works nicely mate. I would say go for it and as already said, you can can always paint them later. Quote
tbscobraZ Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Not a fan of rota's personally. If you're going gold why not go AXIS. On ebay at 800 bucks a set! Or 1100 with tires. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AXIS-OG-OLDSKOOL-Alloy-Wheels-JDM-HONDA-MAZDA-TOYOTA-/370501698274?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item56439f42e2 Quote
benny Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Pretty sure axis are only 4x100 not 114.3... Grids look better IMO Quote
tbscobraZ Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Or maybe this? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BB5-R5-BBS-RS-STYLE-17-INCH-GOLD-BMW-VW-AUDI-ALFA-NISSA-/270754507371?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f0a39ea6b It'll look good reguardless :] Quote
benny Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 they look good except lowest offset is +20 so you would need to run spacers too!! Quote
potter260 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Do you know Skimmo he has the light blue 240 turbo? He lives in Townsville I think he has grids on his? Quote
RB30X Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 Yes I know skimmo. I've been picking his brain about everything zed related at the last few car shows. I took a few pix of his zed too. He run koyo drift teks which a similar to grids but five spoke not six. They look really good. They are 17 x 9 and they fit under his guards due to some subtle massaging. Quote
potter260 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yeah he had to roll his guards to make em fit. How do you thinks those grids are going to go under yours? I would really like some but don't want to if they are going to be a tight fit it's the only thing holding me back. I bought his sons old engine L 28 Quote
RB30X Posted June 9, 2011 Author Posted June 9, 2011 The grids should fit under mine no worries they are only 16 x 8 and I'm only running a 235 tyre. I have coil overs and the gaurds have been rolled but not pushed out at all. Here is Skimmo (in the Shannons shirt) explaining to some old diggers how that LS1 fits in there. His methanol injected boosted Zed Quote
potter260 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Yeh I got to drive it last year He parks it at my dads place when's down my way Quote
RB30X Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 Are these like the te37v? Yes they are. Nice call Bryan, they would look nice in bronze with some lip. Unfortunently it doesnt look like they come in a 16" let a lone a 16 x 8 They go from 15 to 17? I might rim Rota Aus on Tuesday and ask. Very, very nice rim though. Quote
