HI Guys

As some of you guys know I'm restoring an early 240 what you don't know is it does not

have the original engine in it  :(  :(  :(

I am in the process of trying to get past owners of the car details to find said engine.

Now what i am thinking is starting a thread where people can list the engine number of what they

are looking for and hopefully someone may know of its where abouts IE in there car.

I have 2 240 motors that do not belong to my car and would gladly give them or should i say sell them

back to the owner of there original body.

I'm sure there are a lot of cars with the wrong engine this might be a good way to send them home.

I would more than happily pay a good sum to get my original engine back even if its rooted.

What are your opinions and what problems could this cause if any.

Regards

Paul

Great idea Ledge

Not sure how to make all the connections, but I think it's a great idea to try to get cars and their original engines back together. I have kept mine for just that reason, even tho it hasn't been in the car in many years.

Good luck!

Novel idea, but it would surprise me if it actually works.

Then again people say I am skeptical/pessimistic, I prefer to think I am a realist.

it a good idea my dad just found a engine for his 1930 BSA from Perth and it was from his bike and it has not been in the bike for 40+ years . So it would be nice to find that L24 for your car

I have an L24 from a member here who has done an RB conversion; if and when he sells the car and would like to pass on my details to the purchaser, I'd be happy to sell the motor back. It's just a temp motor for my zed at the moment..

I think realistically people who swap motors don't see any value in keeping the Zed original hence would not worry about registering the motor seperate from the chassis. So you might me flogging a dead horse. Novel idea but not sure the problem cars or motors would make it onto your books.

This was a problem for valiant pacers and r/t's for many years and once they became worth good dollars and even better with matching numbers the scenario you are describing has slowly happened to the point where the online community actively helps reunite motors with cars. The only downside is the price of pacers and r/t motors has Increased as some are after a quick buck and are prepared to exploit their advantage over those with the vehicle that the motor came from.
