Hey Guys,

I need to order some new jets for my L24 running triple 44s today and wondering if some was running a similar setup just so i can see if the jets that it's got in it (280Z in america) are in the ballpark:

  • 50 pump Nozzles
  • 200 Air Correctors
  • 145 Mains
  • 57.5 Pilots
  • 160 Starter
  • 34mm Venturis
  • 0A Jet Blocks

Alan (260coupe) did some testing on a dyno and may be able to offer some advice.

Daniel (Dazzzed) may be also able recommend sizes.

Failing that I'll check my Mikuni book and get back to you.

I may be able to help you out as I have an assortment of over 300 jets for Mikuni's  8)

50 pumps seem big to me off the top of my head.

The rest seems ok

Found the factory Mikuni jetting specs for an L24:

• 150 Main Jet

• 200 Air Corrector

• 57.5 Pilot Jet

• 40 Pump Jet

• 34mm Venturies

That sounds familiar.

What mods do you have though?

cam, exhaust, flat tops?

Thay would change the jetting from standard.

50 pumps would give you a massive flat spot IMHO

It's just a stock L24 with headers and 2 1/4 straight through exhaust at the moment. If i decide to put on my blueprint E88 and a street cam i do realise i may need to adjust the jetting but at least i will have a second option with everything then.

I havent actually got the carbs on the car yet as im still rebuilding them so i dont know how they go with their current jets which are old and shiverty from sitting anyway.

150 main and 200  air  you will find for a 2.4 may run quite rich and flat spot i would be steering towards 120 main and 180 air to start with, unlike webers each increment on jet sizes make a huge difference on mikunis

That is a fair bit leaner have you run this sort of setup before?

Since im buy jets should i be getting ones inbetween or just get 120 / 180s

If you are having trouble with selecting jets for your 44 mikunis , you should come and talk the Z guys that will be at the Japanese Classic display on  Sunday the 20th of February 2011 held at the Earnshaw State College Earnshaw Road Banyo. There will be a number of Z`s with triple carbs on display . These guys should be able to help you out .They will be there from 8.00am to 2.00 pm
