I took my dash apart the other day to fix a vacuum leak in my air ducts, change the lil pod with the clock/oil guage/battery meter and to give it abit of a clean/look for any rust.

Clean went ok didn't find anything to major, air is alot stronger now just need to get my aircon re-gassed  i'm thinking somethings not right cause the new gauges still don't all work (clock doesn't move)

Unfortunately now when I put my headlights on i get no back light to anything. It worked before I disassembled the dash. I'm sure i plugged everything back in..

My light relay is buggered but it has been since i've had the car and the lights worked before..

Is there something really obvious i didn't reconnect?

Will a new lighting relay fix the lights (going to get a new one regardless)

a strange thing is when i use the indicators the left one has the flashy light but the right only makes a noise (worked perfectly before)

Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot, I'm still new to everything

Strange that they worked before and not now. Means that theres is something different that you have done.

Maybe you need to pull it out again and make sure all the electrical contacts are working.

Also check all of the fuses. I had a dim drivers side headlight and pulled it out and changed it, stuffed around for a bit until I threw in the towel.

Then I checked the fuses, just rotating them made the contact better and the light now works properly.

Maybe an earth wire got missed when reassembling the dash?

Unfortunately it means taking at least some of it off again to check. :(

i recon you might have it, pulled out the speedo/tacho, i don't think theres anything connected to my dimmer at the moment, do you know where the white wire comes from? Gonna go through the haynes wire diagram later today and try and track it down. Cheers I would have torn the whole dash apart again looking for what might have caused it (still might have to lol)
