Has anyone had experience with converting the original 240z accelerator linkage to cable operation? I know a few posts have talked about "if" it should be done, but any experience with the conversion itself would be appreciated.

Do all the parts come in a kit? How lond has it taken to do the conversion? How much would you be looking at to get it done? etc.

My old linkage is veeery jumpy and seeing ITB's are in the future I might do this now.

Cheers.

IM in process of this also, i will be using the stock rb25 cable from an r34,

installing the r34 or stock'ee bracket inside the firewall,

doing a slight mod to the accel pedal assy, make cable operate of the original linkage pull, or ill use the skyline pedal assy complete, it alsobolts to the firwall.

difference will be the Z linkage pulls from the pass side of the brake booster ans m/cyl, the skyline one will operate on the very side, where the pedal actually is.

I will have pics soon, as im yet to decide and complete.

Honestly id prefer the cable to come out near the washer bottle by the very side, to keep things tidy.

When I had my Rb with the ITB's, I used a cable from a TR Magna. I still have it hanging in my garage. Its a bit short if the throttles are on the passenger side or towards the front of the engine.

Thats all good ideas guys (the TR Magna strikes again)!

I dropped in to see a local fella who can do the conversion and he says to wait for the ITB setup as rotation and cable length will differ. Its a shame as I guess some old linkages are worse than others - mine is a shocker...or I cant drive haha!

I reckon I'm using a Gemini cable on my setup. We fitted a slot to the end of the pedal assembly for the ball at the end of the cable, it turned out just right. I've used with with a V6 commodore TB, L24E TB and will shortly connect it to a KA24E TB.

I'm guessing it is the second. HA.

I'll me going to a throttle cable setup with the RB, so if you need some temporary linkages in the mean time you can steal mine.
