New member looking for a zed

Hi all.

My names Mike & I'm from Sydney.

 

I work as a graphic artist creating artwork for food & beverage packaging.

you probably have some of my work in your fridge & pantry.

 

I'm on the lookout for a 240z or 260z in very good condition. Would prefer a 2 seater but would consider a 2+2.

Have about 20k to play with. maybe a little more for one that's mint.

Looking for a car that's been restored with all the hard work done, so i can just enjoy it on the weekends.

 

Ive been spending hours on these forums reading up. Its a great info source, & my most visited site in the last 2 months.

 

Many years ago i owned a 280zx which was all i could afford at the time, but much preferred the 240z, 260z.

Ive also owned a datsun 180b with sr20t, a vw type 3 squareback, & subaru wrx.

 

Ive inspected a few zeds recently, but am yet to find the right one for me.

most of the good ones I've seen online so far have all been from interstate.

Would like to get one from NSW, but will consider interstate.

 

Let me know if any of you guys are looking at selling your cars?

hopefully my patience can stay strong, & the right car will come along sooner rather than later.

20K should get you a decent Zed, although I haven't checked out the ones available at the moment.

 

A Zed is definitely a car worth traveling for if you can't find something local.

I had a look at another 2 240's this afternoon.

I was out visiting friends in that area & thought i may as well have a look.

They are the ones on ebay currently that are in a car yard out at Granville.

I Wasn't very impressed with the condition of either of them

& didn't bother asking for a drive as i knew there was no way id be buying.

 

both had quite a bit of rust, & smelt really damp on the inside.

Yard was also a bit dodge & id much rather buy private anyway.

Goodluck With your search, those two have been kicking around ebay quite a bit, so no suprizes with your post but good to know.
