Well obviously they're were getting into it and you don't see what happened just before the incident but the Z was as far right on the track as he could go and the other bloke hit him almost in a sore loser fashion.

the zed driver admitted that he 'out braked' himself and that left the other bloke limited space.

However, from the small amount of vision we got of the before, it really looked like a bit of 'bugger you for getting passed me'.

The zed driver isn't much of a steerer (or the car was set up as a pig), he couldn't get away from  what is essentially a Barina!!

I'm thinking that "Kevin" just wanted to take out that 370 but without taking himself out as well. That's why I think he was pissed off..The 370 obviously passed him on the inside and being right hand drive could see him easily, aimed the car and hit him on the quarter panel on purpose...instead of just backing off for a second and let him pass...

Its a bit hard to say, without seeing more of the race.

On the face of it, with the fairly agressive blocking being done by the Corsa, and the angle you get, it looks deliberate.

Looking at it closer though, I reckon the Corsa may have known he was actually faster through the corner (would love to see how he took the same corner earlier in the race), but didn't have the grunt to keep in front over the finish line.  And with the 370 on that line, if the Corsa could turn in and crossover right behind the 370 he would have had a much better exit speed, possibly enough to carry him over the finish line in front.  Great plan, until he misjudged how much the 370 was braking.  If you watch just before the hit, the 370 comes flying past till its actually completely in front, then brakes hard and drops back a little to have its back corner alongside the Corsa again, just as the Corsa tips it in.  Corsa probably thought he'd be on the inside line before the 370 could get on the brakes...

The 370 from incar certainly looked a bit dicey, hard to see the track very well, but he certainly looked a chance to end up in the grass on his own with the speed he was doing on a bad line.  Whether it would have copped as much damage, who knows.

Watching the in-car footage of the accident, you can see the astra make a move to block rather aggressively into the last corner and then pull back to the left. The guy in the astra clearly knew the zed was there but instead of taking the safe option and slowing a tad more on a wide line into the corner and letting the zed run wide and hit the wall on his own (rather likely), he turned in too early to keep the racing line, or maybe do an over-and-under and hit the zed squarely in the wheel.

The barina driver must have been SOO angry at the guy in the zed tho, he had so much more pace round the bends but no grunt down the straight. I've been in the same situation and it's simply INFURIATING. Luckily for me it's not ended like this as I usually wait for them to take themselves out of the event, but I suppose this is a bad outcome for both. If it were me in the zed I'd apologise for a silly overtaking move, but ultimately it was up to the astra to NOT CAUSE the accident, and be the defensive driver which he didn't do. Two aggresive drivers into one cars space is never going to work out.

At the end of the day, the Astra was in the 'second' position, in total control of his car, and the accident is his fault as he hit the rear of the zed, regardless of if the zed would have taken himself out without the shunt and he would have been much better off letting the zed all the way through and then following past out of the corner. Once your front wheel is behind the door of the car in front, you are considered second place. Until he turned it, which he did VERY quickly mind you, everything was dandy.

Desperate driving by both drivers that could have worked out, but didn't due to what I would say is pure Red Mist and aggression.
