zeds4ever Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Have fitted a 280Z brake master cylinder to my 260Z. I intend to fit 280Z rear (S1) calipers as per tutorial. Using existing 260 front calipers. What should i do with regards to the following. (1) Do i remove the valve unit from the rear section in the 280 m/c as per tutorial. (2) Will i need to change the 260 power brake booster to a 280 type. (3) Are there different adapter brkts for the (S1) & (S2) calipers. Regards: Alan. Quote
d3c0y Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 1) You need to do Step 5 2) No 3) Pretty sure the caliper bracket will fit both S1 & S2 Quote

No. The 280ZX has disc brakes (durrr!) so this valve is not fitted to the 280ZX 15/16 M/C. 2. No. The 280ZX M/C will bolt straight up to the 260Z Booster. 3. Yes. The 'Robco' made Alum. ones suit the S1 280ZX setup & there is another US made bracket that suits the S2 setup - PM 'Toecutter' about where to get this S2 bracket. 1) You need to do http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2304.msg17436.html#msg17436 2) No 3) Pretty sure the caliper bracket will fit both S1 & S2 1. You fail at teh linkage! 2. Correct. 3. Incorrect!!! Don't post answers if your not 100% sure!!! Quote
zeds4ever Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Thanks D3coy for your response to my questions. As for your response "Lurch". I posted a question in your tutorial segment on 26th Aug with no response forthcoming. However you choose to respond now. "WHY?" I'm well aware that the 280Z has disc brakes or didn't you note that i mentioned this. As for the 280Z master cylinder bit if you read my opening header, i stated that this was already fitted to my 260Z . (DURR!!) . Lurch as far as the mechanics of cars with you are concerned i am very impressed ,but as for the rest a bit of "tact" wouldn't hurt. Mate i'm trying to gain info regards my 260Z, so just info puleez. Regards : Alan. Quote
