kancho23 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Hi guys, I have to go an meet the good people at vicroads to complete my reg. transfer. I have an inspection of vehicle id numbers. Could someone confirm the location of Chassis number and Engine number stamps - on a 74 260 2+2 regards Peter Quote
. Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The chasis # is stamped on the firewall above the steering column. I don't know where the engine number is stamped, if at all. Quote
Riceburner Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Engine number should be on the factory I.D. plate on the strut tower. Quote
gilltech Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Ditto comments above, & the engine number (eg L26######) is stamped towards the upper edge of the block, on RHS, towards the rear. Vehicle's factory ID plate is rivetted to the front fender apron just in front of the strut tower on RHS of engine bay, & records the body shell no. & the (original) engine no. Quote
