Hey Guys,

Hopefully Scoot, and Sul may chime in here.  Did some playing around with the jetting of the dellos today.  Tried going to 135 mains with 185 Air Correctors and it went like a shower of....horse crap! so back in with the 145 main jets which I tried with a number of variations of air correctors and found that 200 air correctors were best.  it still is a little flat around 2000rpm but after that it pulls way hard and rockets!!  I still need to do something with the narrowing of the air bleeds do you think this will help the down low RPM range? or any other ideas?

Yes do that and check the size of the pump jets too. You need a get a good transition from idle to main. Too much air and fuel in the idles is meant for track work only but for a good street tune it will always be a compromise. You'll lose areas when you reduce the idle curcuit but with some fiddling you'l get it right. Haven't adjusted mine in 6 months.

 

I can make you some air bleeds and send them to you if you like.

They can be very difficult to tune without the reduced air bleeds. When I was getting mine sorted i remember someone saying that the production car Dells like those of the factory Alfas (I've heard them called emmision Dells) have different internal passages to the Performance Dells that have a seperate dedicated air corrector. It's been a while and I'd have to read up to get up to speed but don't spend money on jets until you sort those air bleeds. I spoke to Mick and he bought the wire to make them for you so hopefully I'll have them soon.

 

If you can track down one of those poratble wide band O2 meters (I do recall someone on this forum bought one, I think they're about $400) you could install a wide band sensor on your exhaust and check how rich/lean your running whilst your driving under all conditions. If you've got some borrowed jets then just pull over and change up or down.
