RBZ 260 Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I recall seeing quite a few sites few years ago about people fitting S13, s14 ,R32 , R33 Rear cradles into a 240z. been searching for a while and they all seem to have disapeared. (or maybe im using wrong words) if anyone has any links please post them. prefferable ones with few pics showing all the modifications. cheers Quote
NZeder Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 on this site look at gaijin's project in the Members Project area. I do have to ask why? I know others have done it but why? That is a lot of extra weight in the back of a S30 chassis for what? A setup that does not change camber when under load? That is about all, and the only advantage over the stock setup. For all the $$ and work involved spend the $$, time and effort in fixing other areas of the suspension that need work. If you are after the later style CV and Diff setup then check out the TTT rear conversion stuff - that is what I would do - fast and cheaper in the long run, than all the custom fab work required + the TTT stuff is bolt in see http://www.technotoytuning.com/productdetail.php?p=863 Quote
zzzzed Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 check video 20 out from project hugo. I highly recommend watching all of his vids out they are good Quote
RBZ 260 Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 thanks guys. Nzeder why it will all make sense bit later. not worried about the weight the monster that be sitting in between front towers will handle that easy. thanks for reminding me of Gaijins project.may have to get his details with the rear cradle setup and few other items on his car. but pretty much that's what i was looking for. Mick i cant watch youtube at work LOL but ill check once i get home. Quote
NZeder Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I still don't get the need to install the complete rear end when a good CV conversion and shortnose Diff gives you the same strength - anybody else have there thoughts on this? + the chassis will be week if you don't put a full cage into to match. The cage will have to pickup the front and rear suspension to take all the flex out if you are running big big aka RIPS 240z type power 1200+HP RB30DET monster but then RIPS 240z only had a full cage that did not pickup the front struts or have a dash bar Quote
RBZ 260 Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 wont be RIPS 1200hp monster LOl about half of that roughly. its still going to be street car. but there is other aspects of the cradle that i want that makes adapting to existing setup difficult. ill PM you need to pick ur brain so as Gaijins Quote
