Ok thought I'd start a poll on what is the number #1 all time modification you can make to a Zcar.

I'll divide it up into categories and pick the best fit for your modification then describe what your choice was and why it is the #1 most essential modification you have to make.

Keep it to 1 modification only unless it interlinked with another mod.

Should be interesting.

I voted suspension. Why go fast if it feels like your in a boat. Z cars look so much better when they sit that little bit lower.

Almost chose brakes for same reason.

Suspension Definately.

A good handling car that can utilise all the available power is a lot better than a car with an extra 100hp that can't get any of it too the ground or turn a corner.

I think I needed to be more specific, I mean just one modification.

So when you first get a Zcar what is something original on the car that absolutely must be changed for you. Is it the stock steel hubcaps on a 240z? Is it the old points distributor for a electronic distributor?

Perhaps it's the original steering wheel?

The poll options are where you mod fits in the broad category of things.

Does that make sense?

i voted for body work, as i have to back up what i did! which was pull off the rear hatch cover thing, and put on a front spoiler, even though this isn't really body work, and even though they can look alright without both of those mods when done up to suit.

then any mods after that should also follow the order i'm slowly doing them in...i hope hehe

Suspension for sure. I think I have gone through about 3 different suspension setups in the last 4 years and there really is no substitute for a decent setup. Had king springs at first, but with exhaust from the RB and trying to get it RWC was too low, so Pedders came in with some Konis and raising springs (rediculous handling), now udjustable height coilovers.

suspension for sure guys! as a standard car a 240/260z has the power to weight to be competible with any other widely sold car up to the early 90's, they have the brakes to match for a standard car. So suspension it was when it came to the first mod for my car, I went with koni fully adjustables with ex nissan gtr works car springs, hehe due to the re working of the srut casings etc i also took the time to ass z32 twin turbo front brakes and a z31 disc brak rear end. All thatnks to Lindsay at Zspares for the engineering work and a few beers on a saturday to fit it all. Even now with almost standard springs in it, it may sit a little high but handles very well has enough squat out of corners to put the power down but is also stiff enough to cut out alot of roll over.
