hi guys

I pulled the falks from my motorbike today to replace the head stem bearings

I didn't expect to find my triple tree had snapped

My question is it possible to weld this or is it to risky???

It'd be a high carbon/tensile steel, so welding it will soften it to the consistency of cheese...

Best to find a replacement mate ;)

I think a few people jumped in a bit quick on this one when they responded, if you have a close look at the fracture in the fork arm bracket you will notice that this is a manufactures design , so purchasing a new bracket may have the same weakness built into it , i would feel a lot more confident having it welded knowing that its strucerly stronger than the stock unit than purchasing a new one only to have the same happen again, judging by the pics you sent , penetration from a good welder im sure would determine strengh in the refabrication,, are you in melbourne ?
