kenny000 Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Hi all, My blinkers work fine when I use them without my headlights on. When i turn my headlights on both the rears blinkers turn on, so do the brake lights and well all the lights are flashing, like its a disco back there (fronts are working as normal. What sort of troubleshooting do you guys suggest to weed out the problem ? Thanks in advance Quote
Scoota G Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Negative earth problem somwhere under the dash?!?!? Quote
Riceburner Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Yeah sounds likely to me. Go through the loom and clean all earth points onto the body, there'll be 30+yrs of corrosion under them. Just a light rub with emery paper or sand paper should do the trick. Quote
Zeddophile Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 +1 for earth connections. On old alfas, its always at the rear light itself - 105s the wire corrodes off the bulb holder, on alfettas they have a stupid circuit board thing which the bulb holder stops making proper contact to. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted November 23, 2009 Moderators Posted November 23, 2009 Common mistake I've seen done is a single filament globe installed in a twin filament holder; has anyone changed globes recently? When you park lights are turned on and a single filament globe contact bridges a twin contact and feeds power to a circuit that hasn't been switched on yet.... Quote
dazzed Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Dimetris on it ,, i had a similar problem replaced all the globes , several stop globes were shoting out on the filiment sending power back up the loom , ive had a lot of problems with cheap globes blowing and shorting out , insist on phillips and replace them all Quote
