Hey all,

to put it bluntly.....my Z doesn't have a complience plate.

All the numbers match, i.e: car and rego but I think the guy who sprayed it lost it!!

Is there an issue with this?

And if so what can I do? can I get a blank and put the numbers in it?

Talk to the RTA. If your car is regoed then they can match your chassis number to their records and go from there. I'm not too sure of the full process but they shold be able to help.

Compliance plates were phased in during 1971. Missing plates should not be too much issue. You just need evidence the car has been registered in Aus previously (not imported second hand). I had exactly the same scenario with my 240z.

Gents,

the car is still registered and I transfered the rego from another NSW guy so no prob there.

Your advise is a relief as the guys at the mechanics shop told me it was a big issue. I was skeptical to say the least as the car was regoes, is regoed and the numbers match.

Still would like to get a blank and put it on.

regards,

Tim

I personally wouldn't try to add a plate. It might cause more confusion and make it seem like you are trying to pull the wool over their eyes. Plus plates with the details to match your car will be dificult to find as they didn't exist pre 1971.
