Bruce Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Apart from rust, is there any other common issues that 240z's are pulled up on when having a roadworthy check? cheers Bruce Quote
zedevan Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 i have a nice list in my canery thread  but yeah i'd say in general just the rust and other things to do with them getting older, so leaks, bits worn out etc Quote
sjcurtis Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 Look at worn lower front ball joints, steering gear Rack mounts and Ball ends. Seat belts may get pinged. I got pulled up for interior because I had to much in the shed when I went for rego. There are heaps, it really will depend on who you get. good luck Steve Quote
warrenz Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Oil leaks are usually looked at. Maybe all cleaned up and wiped dry before you take it in might get over the line. Warren Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted June 18, 2006 Administrators Posted June 18, 2006 As the others have said it could be anything. Usually the L-series motor is not a problem but worn valve stem seals or rings causing burning oil might be a problem. Seals around the rear hatch letting exhaust smell come in are often picked up. Look at suspension, springs could be sagged or worn shockers (oil type) could be leaking. Bushes have usually perished by now if not replaced at some stage. Undersized brakes especially the rear drums which are often not correctly adjusted. (Handbrake adjustment). Dash globes could be gone (easy fix). The rest would be all the standard stuff but use your own discretion. Quote
