This car used to be based on Geelong VIC, well thats the Geelong waterfront were the photos were taken.

Looks the goods, but needs the Ferrari dash and tripples to compete it IMO.

Any one have a spare $45k to blow

Call me crazy and feel free to right me off as a nutter, but I think the original lines of a 260z look better then that. Now, a real 250gt looks great, but I still prefer the datsun shape. Maybe I am on drugs or something.

I'm with you on that one.  A genuine 250gt is a beautiful car.  But when you try to make a Z look like one...........each to their own I suppose.

These people annoy me when they try to obfuscate the truth.

What is a 260Z Cleon - do they mean Klingon!

V12 - Did they count six and then walk around to the other side of the car and count six again!

I agree with you about the dash - he should see me for a real replica, http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3783.0.html

There is a sensational 250 GTO replica in Melbourne - http://aussieexotics.com:80/forum/ferrari/ferrari-club-victoria-2009-concours-d’elegance-19-april-2009-t4369.0.html

Which has a fascinating story -

http://www.autosmobilis.com/contro.htm

One went to auction a couple of years ago but was passed in when the bidding only reach $300,000US

Also, I understand someone in Oz had a spare Ferrari V12 they were considering fitting to a 260Z, - they had both the car and the engine - but I've heard nothing about it for over 12 minths.

I really like the end result....but do I think it was worth trashing the 240z? I don't think so. If it was based on something less worthy it'd be a different story.......

I wonder if anyone was made a kit to convert a Ferrari GTO into a 240z??

Hey I met this bloke at the local car wash over here, seemed like a really nice guy.  He has spent an absolute fortune on this car.  He told me not to modify my 240 at all and just keep it original as the value of the car will just go up, so he knows what's what.

Just a guess but I think he started modifying his Zed when they weren't considered classics and just another datto lying around to use as a project.

Big fan of 250GTO ferrari's have a little match box one, to bad only 39 were ever made one went for 15.6 million pounds last year I think, Yonks ago I thought of doing the same thing to a 260 but have long since changed my mind, would be cool to own all the looks you would get, 40k is a bit off what id pay maybe 20-25k. All round still a cool car. would of been a pain to make all that chopping and roof mods.
