engine conversion VK45/56de swap potential?

Hi, I’m new here and unsure on where exactly to put this. But I am finishing high school next week and my dad said he would get me any 1 thing that I asked.

I saw a couple videos on the vk de engines and I was wondering about the if anyone knew about the viability of engine acquirement/building, mod-plate-ability and general viability of the swap.
 

I know that it is very uncommon but I am planning on doing mechanical engineering at UQ so I am just hoping that I would be able to use this as a “school” project, but also I don’t think I would have any issue with labour as my family has a mechanic background/colleagues that can assist

What are you wanting to put it in?
I'd speak to a engine importer about availability of an engine first, then speak to an automotive engineer about the legality of the swap.
Be aware the VK series is very wide.

Also what you are thinking will be 10x more difficult and 10x more costly than you can imagine...
