Surly_Z Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I found this whilst "busy" at work. Never again can anyone complain about a dodgy bog job done by the previous owner. Just imagine the shock of finding out 90% of your bodywork is foam... sheesh http://englishrussia.com/?p=1949 Quote
acf321 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Hang on Pauly, where the Hell did you get these photos?? I'm calling NAT .... that's the bloody Brown Hornet !!!!! Quote

. Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 hey thats how I made the BRE style fibre glass guards Horay for foam Quote
RBZ 260 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 thats how u F up a nice car LOL ive seen it a while ago. damn ugly but the process is very interesting and give lot of ideas. as for safety i think be safer than any car out there. u just bounce off things the main shell is still there just been bulked up. interior at least u have permenant airbags. but it could be a good alternative to experiment with Z flares, bonnet boulges or wide kits. than take a mould of it and hopefully u got a hot car. now whos up to do the Z concept like this one Quote
. Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 Mate that is a beutiful concept. Its hard to isolate the changes though. The main one is the curved A pillar....I don't think foam and bog can reproduce that. I used foam to fill the sugar scoop headlights then made a mould of the whole panel. The process works quite well. Buts its not cheap. You still end up using a heap of bog. Quote
RBZ 260 Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 i was thinking to experiment with my rust bucket 240z. but its even gone too far for that. as for the pillars i know a car that has the same ones. and should be cheap. hyundai coupe has those pillars and prob can make the use out of their pilarless door glass. rear 1/4 windows can be custom cut to suit the shape or even borow that from the late model tiboron. it shouldnt be too hard to do it. just bit of Cash, foam, and bog and heaps of time Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted June 3, 2009 Moderators Posted June 3, 2009 Where do you get that foam from? I wanted to play with the nosecone filled.. Quote
620Z Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Bunnings. Works great. Heaps of different applications for this product. Quote
. Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 anybody ever thought about putting a Bugatti Veyron style back on a zed? either just the black paint or even flaring a little and the black paint Quote
RBZ 260 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 almost looks as good as that merc on top of the page Quote
sco_aus Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Thats gold. If it was just for a show car, then why not? Would reduce a lot of weight too lol Quote
