I figured for comparison reasons you fellas might be interested in what the market price for a clean 240z over here is.

This car was in a Nissan showroom next to the 350z near where I live in Dublin. I'm told the car sold. Not sure if it got asking price, my guess is yes it did.

When you convert the Euro to AU you get about $44,000 AU.

So when you buy that cheap Zed remember what a deal you are getting.

Yes I miss driving my Zed :).

Hey gav240Z

I'm new to the site, I hope I get it right, sorry I missed you in Ireland Gav. You don't know it, but I had a F@#k-wit did a U-turn in front of my beautiful  Targa Tasmania baby, Insurance Co offered me $1000 and take the wreck, damage was superficial.

I had to get Shannons assessor to value my 76 260Z in concourse race trim for the claim, it was assessed at $45,000, that put a smile on my dial, and a good price for melbourne, and not as scarce here as they may be in Dublin.

We'll ship em over mate and you can be the front man for sales in Ireland!  ;D ;)

Sulio

There might be something in that Sulio. Especially with the buying price of the Euro.

Hey Len,

Glad to see you signed up and decided to join us. Sorry to hear about your Zed, glad you had a proper evaluation on it. I think the value of a Zed is certainly going to head in that direction over the next couple of years. There are literally none here in Ireland, I know of about 4 in total. 2 of the Irish owners are members here.

When you get your Zed all repaired and back to where it was we should do a feature on it and put it on the homepage of the site. I'm sure our members would benefit from your knowledge and experience.

I would be but I think its gone now. Last time I went past there it was no longer in the window. So I think it sold.

Don't suppose you know the new owner do you?

Hmm strange I thought it was definitely gone and I saw a sold listed for it on one of the Irish websites. Perhaps it fell through?

Its a nice one alright.

i didnt interrogate him now, wait till the weekend for that.

said it was restored in england, the guy brought a clean US shell over and worked away. but i get the feeling that its been driven feck all. speedo on the advertisement says "0" miles, but sure mine had that, but it had a "2008" tax disc on it, and its been in the garage since october at least. but where its been cleaned (and the paint is perfect) there is a lot of grime around the windows, between the rubber and the body, now i didnt pay much heed at the time, but im wondering how long has it been stored.

must look on the english Z club. it has a sticker from there on it, might have a project thread

maybe i should sell mine here, then ship an oz car too!

but that english one has been for sale for ages, no-one will buy that.

Lurking here a while now! Yep they're certainly pricey our end of the world but they're as rare as hens teeth! I'm over from here from Dublin, Ireland for a few months and am shipping a 240z or 260z back to Ireland when I'm heading back. I've been looking at a few 240z, 260z on the trader sites and saw a few I might be interested in. I've no interest in any autobox zeds.

@eire05, not interested in an oz Zed? jap? yank?

Excuse my ignorance!  :D  I'm new to the Zed scene ..Whats the main difference between them? or are you refering to my autobox comment.

If i buy a Zed I'd prefer a manual, more fun to drive and it would have a higher resale value in Ireland also.

bingo! ive sent him a pm

Yeah I've asked (pm'd) him about this before when he had it up on boards.ie!! A absolute stunner of a Zed.

He actually didn't import it himself he got it from some lad who'd imported it from Oz and has no idea what carrier he used to import it. It was green when he first got it! Pretty helpful guy
