another post on here reminded me of this so i thought i put an update

 

RX4 is now gone  :'( and finaly i got the mustang over 

 

found out lot more about these things since have it over at my place.

 

comparing it to Z well its dinosour in aspect in technology. wierd front setup (well for me) OMG leaf springs at the back.

 

though it does have lot of impressive stuff too. inner door panels have grained texture like leather. seats seem very good quality of test of time.

 

love the mean look of the car. expecialy those side scoops and concave doors.

 

getting evil ideas what to do with the car. was ment to be a repaint and put back together mostly original.

 

but so many goodies can be bought for these relatively cheap.

 

some evil ideas that croped up is havin climate controll as apperently VN commodre complete system can fit with relative ease, new autometer ford themed gauges, power steer,big brakes, lsd diff, few body mods and elaborate paint scheme, and big hp engine.

 

got all the paperwork for the car but post on Lurches 260z paint job reminded me of some aspects.

 

the conversion from lh to rhd was 3.5k

 

brake upgrade 0.8

 

panel work and alignemnt was 2.5l

 

paint and prep was 6.8k and thats in acrylic. mind you this is back in 1993. i personaly think 6.8k paintjob will be lot better than what this is. but well i didnt pay for it so dont realy care. will get new paintjob as i realy dont like the colour now at all.

 

engine wise would like the new quad cam boss260 5.4L but looks like it wont fit without some mods.

option two is to go for the later pushrod efi 5L and attach two turbos to it.

hows it going.... hmmmmm collecting precious DUST.

 

Got few little things for it.

 

genuine 68' cobra jet bonnet scoop (somehow i need to feed the turbos with fresh air  )

 

few cobra insignias and badges. got few scetches drawn up on the stripes.

colour scheme has changed again.

 

still looking at installing the 5.4L boss engine or modifying a 302 windsor Tickford AU3 220kw with twin hair driers.
