24Ozed Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Hi Guys, I am replacing my intake manifold at the moment and am wondering wether its worth upgrading my Throttle body & injectors while i have everything off.. I currently have an L28E with a throttle body measuring 55mm and standard injectors. Is there a bolt on upgrade throttle body? What is the optimum size to go for? Also is it worth upgrading injectors if i'm still using a standard ecu? If so what injectors will be suitable? Thanks Travis Quote
Glen Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I dont think there would be much to gain from changing your injectors, as for your TB you would just get better response with maybe a slight increase in power if you went to twin or itb's. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted March 28, 2009 Moderators Posted March 28, 2009 If you're keeping the original ECU, no matter what you change; as in throttle body or cam etc, the computer will still treat it as its the original throttle body or cam. As Glen said, there may be small gains but nothing really worth the cost you will be putting in. If upgrading the ECU to a programmable one, that's a different story. Quote
Rhino73z Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I also have a L28E running VL Commodore injectors (don't know the capacity off my head) but also run a Haltech management system, which make the car get up a boogie nicely. Quote
24Ozed Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Thanks for your comments guys, so looks like i'll leave it as is... Since i'm not looking to make changes to the ECU at this time will look to find gains elsewhere... Thanks again Travis Quote
