Hey Guys,

Fulcrum told me that my rear suspension has been altered at some point in my cars life, and the stock 260z koni reds will not fit. They measured it up and called Koni in Sydney who told them they needed " 280z" suspension. After the 280z struts arrived they did not fit either, and as such they are fabricating a spacer so that the 260z Konis will fit.

My question: I asked if they could put the original rear shocks back in, as I needed the car, but they told me that the rear shocks they had taken out were 'wet legs' IIRC and that once they had been dis-assembled they could not be re-assembled. I did not understand but to inquire further would have been rude, can anyone explain this to me?

Thanks,

Steve

They can be re-assembled but need to be bled and that takes time; hence why they didn't want to do it. Or they just don't know how to do it. If you have a Haynes manual, that explains the process. While you are at it, just pour in a thicker oil and up rate the spring rate!

If it's any help, I run Koni yellows (part number 8641-1060) in the rear of my 240z (51mm struts).  They do have a spacer at the bottom, approx 40mm to make the difference.  I also added a sleeve at the bottom of the shock to ensure they fit snug in the tube.  The top fits snug in the existing retaining nut.  :)

Hello Rhino, i run Koni classics front and rear and found they were too long.

I had the old man machine up some new caps and that fixed the problem.
