Sorry to dig this subject up again but looks like I might have to part with this RB setup! At this moment I'm getting an L24 rebuilt and I'm going to need the funds for that. Its the matching engine # that's going back in (with a little extra work being done). Should see at least the same if not more Kw's at the wheels so it should be good. This sale would be for the engine, clutch + flywheel, 5 speed trans, alternator, triple weber manifold, engine mounts/sump and lots of other misc bits and pieces. All up I'm hoping for $1800 ready to drop in. You can run Webers/Dellorto's on this manifold but need a MSD ignition controller to run the distributor-less ignition and coil pack. Power I attained was around the 120rwKw but with some lumpier cams and headers, 140+ would be achievable.

 

I'll leave it here for about a week then its evilBay!

It is a NA gearbox. Reason is there are no modifications needed to fit the NA box compared to the turbo box. With the turbo, original transmission mounts in the tunnel have to be trimmed back/removed for clearance.

Well, in typical ebay fashion always plenty of watchers and e-tyre kickers so now its going to be sold off in parts (wise move thanks Glen)  The sump/oil pickup is for the moment spoken for as are the mounts. If anyone wants the 5 speed and clutch if they are going the RB way.... before I place it on ebay and the RB25 engine with the Weber and exhaust manifold fitted with new cam belt & water pump. If anyone is interested just let me know through here of PM. Gearbox and clutch & flywheel is $400 and engine with manifolds $1000. Or any reasonable offers close to that..

If anyone wants the RB25DE with the Weber manifold and the accesories for $650 they can have it... Had enough of the crappy offers I'm getting from ebay. I'd rather give it to someone here cheaper than give it away on ebay. Starting to lose patience now. Watchers doing sweet FA then offering me $200 for the engine....cmon...worth more in scrap!

Hmm, If I lived near you I'd have bought this already. It it a genuine na motor or a turbo with different pistons?

 

What would you sell the inlet manifold for?

It's a genuine NA motor; and if you want the inlet manifold, you can have it for $180. Found out tonight, the manifold will only fit the early RB's out of an R32. I compared the manifolds from later R33's and they are different. My  manifold has 14 mounting bolts whereas the later heads have only 13 mounting bolts. I may have to sell the engine/manifold together.

If you are really keen, I can place it on a pallet and courier it to you at a reasonable fee. Should be around $70 ? I need it gone so I can finish my 240!

I only really need the head. The complete engine would be good for the datsun boys being a na motor, but not really a bigger market. The price is strting to get more realistic now to. Is it the non vvt head? On your ebay listing you say you wont split, so i think i might be barking up the wrong tree.

Reason I don't want to separate is because after I remove the head, I'll have a short block that no one wants to but for any reason and end up throwing it out..

Im wondering why you took the 2.5 out it sounded awesome in your youtube videos

 

For the zed now I'm building a healthy L24 with the same EFI to go back in. It's a matching number engine so that's more of a reason to install. Plus once this goes back in...I'm over any more conversions...time and money is running out!

So early R32's had an RB20 for non GTR's and an RB26 for the GTR's, but your RB25 from an na R33 has been running the R32 manifold that only fits RB20's, and not RB25's from R33's.??....say that ten times fast.

 

 

I think you've got your R32's and R33's round the wrong way.

No there are R32 RB25DE - my brother in-law had one before a d!ck in a subaru lost control on a corner and totalled it on a head on collision at over 160km/h combined impact. There a few R32 RB25DE here in NZ :)

I've been running the manifold that came with the RB25 when I bought it. There are R32's that came with 2.5's. Just standard GTS' I'm sure came with the RB25. I checked with a head that Ash has which is a VVT head (off a R33) and that had only 13 bolt holes where mine has 14. Water jackets didn't match and had a few clearance issues. Now the manifold comes with the engine!

How much for the engine as its on ebay now

With out the tbi etc

 

Did you want the engine without the manifold? Or do you mean without all the EFI? In the auction the throttle bodies don't come with it anyway...just the long motor with exhaust manifold and inlet manifold.

Yeah Wax, I have a Redline manifold..already started to mount the TB's on it..DId you want to trade it in for a discount? hmmm

some non turbo r32s came out with rb25de

 

my mate had one.

 

correct me if im wrong, r32 GTS4 is the only one that did come with a rb25de, all other R32 GTS's came in rb20's.
