hey guys i'm having a bit of problem with my baby 260z.

About a week ago my revs stop movinig and my oil and fuel gauges stop working as well.

after a short drive my battery ran out.

can anyone help, has anyone has the same problem?

Do you think its a alternator problem or the regulator.

Does the 260z come with a regulator if so where can i find it and what does it look like.

any help would be great ive been busting my brain to find out whats wrong.

muchacho260z have you checked all the fuse's out with a test light

And i think there is a  main fuse under the bonnet aswell (not 100% sure)

You better wait for one of the main guys help you out. But thats where i would start (fuse's)

Does the car start at all now? If it does, put a multimeter across the battery (as in red lead on the + and black on the - ) while the car is running and it should read 13.8 - 14.2V. If it is below that or hanging around 11 volts, your alternator isnt charging the battery and the car is running off the battery instead of the alternator. I suggest charging the battery overnight till its full and check again. When a regulator fails sometimes the voltages go all over the place and to dangerously high levels. There is a fusible link under the bonnet next to the brake master cylinder. Check that and make sure nothing has melted.

Alternator

PMSL happened to me yesterday, funniest thing is I just replaced the old althernator that was overcharging the day before.
