reverendzed Posted November 18, 2008 Author Posted November 18, 2008 Ben, It's definitely show worthy, there are two classes one for concourse type stuff and I'm putting mine in the show & shine. Probably won't win but it's a lot of fun with a good opportunity to see other cars and allow folks to admire your hard work, cmon have a go! Rev. Quote
reverendzed Posted November 19, 2008 Author Posted November 19, 2008 I know this is kinda illegal, but this is a BUMP It's easier to ask for forgiveness rather than permission! Any more takers for Cars of the world? Rev. Quote

reverendzed Posted November 23, 2008 Author Posted November 23, 2008 After thinking that the weather was going to let us down we ventured out past Frankston to an outstanding location overlooking the sea where the annual Cars of the world show was held. I guess i was a little disappointed with the overall number and variety of cars but it was great to catch up with Ben (Mayhem) Dale (dalee) John (redRB240Z) and meet a few new guys with zeds to whom I waved the Auszcar banner high! John I thought your car was outstanding, and Ben's turbo Rb and Dales Supa clean 240 also looked awesome, real headturning Zed showpieces, well done guys! The Jap car award went to a roadster so I thought that the guy who won would be pleased however I question the objectivity of the judges in this class! There were a couple of Zeds who were more worthy of the award....but, we were there more for the fun of it anyway. Be great to see a few of these days on the calender for 2009. Sorry I didn't get many pics, maybe Mayhem and Dale could post some of theirs. Rev. Quote
Cdr Zero Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Wow, fantastic location and great weather! The Z's are the best cars there, they look stunning!. I wish we had some of that sun yesterday - it was on-off-on-off raining all day. Quote
260Coupe Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Rev I think there was really no question in the White Roadster being the winner of the "Best Jap" award had undergone an $70K + resto that involved a total rebuild of every panel (the body was remade by hand with precicely 3mm panel gaps) and every single component rebuilt. This car is actually far better bulit quality than the originals that came of the production line so I think well deserved of the Best jap award. My green Zed won the best 76 to 85 Sports award and whilst very clean and original........ it is not a patch on the Roadster. But as you say a great day out with plenty of jap product on display (almost half of all entries) Alan Quote

luvemfast Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 WTF Blue skies? I didn't go because I had my daughter, my wife was doing girly stuff, I didn't want her out in the cold and rain. And the weather looked better than in town........Bugger. Looked like a good day though. Was there many cars? Different brands? Or mainly Nissan Datsun's? Quote
mayhem Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 not alot there really bout 100 cars, but i think everyone got put of cause of the rain in their area... shit i got sun burnt!!!!! Quote
