A lot of my pics only include half the car but I managed to get some pretty good ones of your car. I'll post them up when I get back to Tas. I'm sure Sexual Sushi will have some that are much better than the snaps I took. Thanks for the tour of the shed the other night, was awesome to have a look at your toys. Also thanks to PZG302 for the tour of his shed and the beers on saturday and Galderdi for sunday. Pitty I couldn't hang round longer. Good to meet so many QLD members! It's been an excellent trip. I can't wait for your excel sheet with all the gearbox info, it will be very handy. How much photoshop did you have to do to get my car looking that clean? Looks good. You definitely have to get that stroker engine built so that you can bring the 240z. Don't bring it until you can beat my mates stock valiant (I would never hear the end of it if a stock valiant beat a stock Z). P.S. The best of the night for me was a 14.5, but I know I can get into the 13s with more practice, just couldn't get off the line cleanly. Trap speed was 100mph, so should be good for a mid 13 if I can get the 60' times down. Quote

. Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 Went really well took 5 seconds off my personal best (from 72 to 67). Considering its only my second run at Lakeside I am really happy. I need more track time to get more tyre data and I am confident I can save another couple of seconds with the current setup. So my current target is a sub 66 second lap. Then I hope to lose another couple of seconds after I make the rest of my mods. Long term target a sub 63 second lap. Quote

I'm delving into fuel injection atm and planning my 4th car Yeah very satisfying. My previous 72 second lap always bugged me a little but it was my first time around Lakeside. Even so I did not expect to get down to 67 in the next visit. I just need more time to sort out the best tyre pressures. My next mod is a hydraulic handbrake (although this won't help around lakeside). After that my immediate mods will be: 1. to fit my fibreglass rear bumper. 2. to finish and fit the fibreglass guards longer term mods will be: 1. after market ECU 2. Perspex side windows 3. A new engine taking more time to pay attention to the modifications aiming for more torque, less revs. I Was finding my times improved at lakeside when I was using the torque of the engine rather than the revs. Quote
