Nice mate. Its amazing what you can do with a bench vice and a hammer.

Did you hit your thumb nails did you? I did that a few months back and had to relieve the pressure by drilling a hole in my thumb nail lol. It was instant relief

nah got a love bite from the milling machine lol. no need to relieve pressure it did it for me. didn't even hurt till like the next day. I hit my fingers and thumbs all the time. but when your panel beating your not hitting hard. If you actually look i have a few different dollies i put in it. some made from rail way line. you just cut it off then shape it and then start playing with it. Most of the dollies i use I make. I think of something cut the metal out shape it as see how it works. Made an anvil once from a piece of rail way track. had to mill it and lath it and heat it and cool it and it made a mad little anvil for an apprentice fitter machinist. then someone broke into my workshop and stole it.

I'm back. A little dirty and a little tired but more work has progressed. It is getting near the finishing of this quarter. I am happy to say. Did a little bit of electrical work last night. Turns out that the alternator is the cause of my electrical problems. Its grounding out. No worries I'm Sure I have like another 4 in the storage shed. So I had her turning over last night. Not starting But there are reasons for that.

A little work has progressed. more paint stripping and preperation. Ran out of gas for the welder but that hopefully will be fixed tomorrow. The state of the engine tells me that its been looked after of its been out before. I dont think i have pulled an engine out that clean before lol. The engine bay is coming up nicely. As did the roof and the rest of the car. Few spots to finish then it can be painted and put back together. still a bit of a way off as of yet.

Well I hope that all have had a good Christmas. I would like to take the oppertunity to wish everyone a happy and productive new year. As well as love peace and blessings. To those of us that are having some time off i hope that it is a relaxing time and not a time where the wife hands you the list of work to keep you going. For those of us working threw i hope that work still has that spark that makes it bearable and that our home times and holiday times are put to good use ( on the couch infront of the cricket) or as i would have to do. Go Bush. Thank you for reading my ramble.

As i was stripping out the engine bay i realized how much damage had been done to the front end. There was a bit of a crumple after the radiator wall. So the car was torchered. Finding a decent place to fix an anchor to the back of the car and then using the bumper mounts the mount the front we stretched the car. The idea is to put pressure on the body so that when you start to hammer it into shape it pulls out the right way. So after a little hammering. a bit of slid hammering and some stretching the front is a lot better then it was. there is still a bit of work but much better. There was no frame bent in the damage which makes it alot easyer. Sorry I forgot to grab pics. The roof got some attention today as well with the fact that i found some ribs in it. So the oxy got bort out to help with that. Unfortunatly not long after starting I ran out of oxygen so work had to be stopped. But the mig got started up and some more welding took place and the hammer has been happily working and making a difference. More to some. Maybe some primer.

Good evening. Well after dislicating my knee. I havent spent much time in the workshop. plan on getting out there again. It hot and the house is hot but the workshop is air conditioned, so besides other work there is a lot of planning going on for the 260z.

Well I would like to thank those who have and are helping me on my car. Its good to sometimes have a team at work on something that is mine and not a customers. Anyone is welcome to come and help if they wish. I will apologise in advance if you do lol.

Well I really haven't posted anything up on the thread for a while. Not because I haven't done anything but because I been slack on posting it. Well the roof is pretty much in primer. I have welded up the passenger side. It went in primer this arvo. I am quite impressed on the lines and quarter of the car. The line half way up is sharp enough to shave off. So why am I still hairy.

Some people have been doing some crap work for me around the car like prepping for primer and cleaning and sanding. Doing a great job.

Scott and I are heading out on Thursday to look at a 1200 coupe. See what condition its in and how well dressed it is. See if its worth the money being asked and if I can work my sweat and blood into it and make it like new again.

But as it is there is no pics. I forgot to charge the camera so they will wait till tomorrow night. Maybe.

More work has progressed with the drivers side finally recieving some work. after lots of interesting project (fully enclosed car trailer. with fold out bed). pictures are to come but hopefully things will be rapping up soon with a final sale. But if anyone is interested in the meen time i have a gtir that is being scrapped. if you want parts let me know.

New metal lathe arriving on monday. should make a good combination with my mill. I will finaly be able to do some of the well needed work now. and soon a new mig welder.

Good evening to everyone. Well it's been on hold for some time now but yella is back in the workshop and getting some attention. Engine bay has been stripped and getting ready for paint.

Is it time to ask what colour you have chosen yet?

yes the colour has been picked. I was always going to do it yellow again but to the number on the plate. well then there was this yellow and that yellow and the skyline yellow keeps coming up in my mind. so the r34 yellow is gonna get mixed up and sprayed. I think it will be a simple colour. It may not be standard but i dont think it will look out of place. I often find that bringing an older car into a newer and cleaner colour hightens the appearance of the car but doesnt make it over the top and still allows it to blend in.

and trust me i know over the top. Scoaust can tell you about the house of colour candy mandorine n15 pulsar lol. park it in an underground car park and you knew where it was by the glow on the roof of the car park and the cars around.

plus i think it will add a little clean ness from the 70's colours that started to go back to more earthy appearances.

ok so when i talked to the guy i purchased the car off. he said the guy who owned it before him used the car as a rally car. i didnt really take much notice because  i wasnt worried about it. and the car was strait. So now i talked to a friend of mine that use to rally cars around the area and he said he remembers a guy that use to rally one that was yellow and posably had black sills and partly up the doors. like mine did. He also said it was fast and that they guy had done a bit of work to the engine. flat top pistons and stuff. and it does have them. He did say though that the guy may have used it more for a hill climb car. so at the moment i believe it was actually used as a rally, hill climb car in its past. I need to find out more information about how keen the guy was and stuff. but its interesting.

Definately interesting stuff.  I would love to know the history of my car, I reckon it was rallied, or with the condition of the chassis, maybe even a paddock basher...
