ZWOLF Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Hi guys, With the economy tough here and no time for vacation, I thought I would have a cyber vacation in Australia. Figured I might learn something, pick up some ideas, and meet some new people. I have a couple modified Z cars, a 1970 and a 1971. Life seems to get in the way alot so I don't make the huge time commitments associated with racing, or motorsports. Pretty much I drive the cars and enjoy them while taking in a car show from time to time. Thanks, Roger Quote
sco_aus Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Welcome Roger, are they your cars in the pic? Thats pretty cool. Could you tell us more about your Z's? You have cyber travelled at the wrong time of year though, it's bloody freezing here, we had snow around our capital city of Canberra in the last couple of days... Quote
ozy Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 cyber holiday? oh, im gonna suggest that to the woman next time she thinks of vacations... welcome to the site! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 29, 2008 Administrators Posted July 29, 2008 Awesome cars, both with cool body kits. There can't be that many Z's with the Panterra kit floating around now. Of course the black one is very unique also, I've seen pics of it on classiczcars.com has a mean V8 under the hood if I'm correct. Glad you stopped by, if you want an article done like those on our front page let me know I'm sure people would love to read about those cars. Quote
ZWOLF Posted July 29, 2008 Author Posted July 29, 2008 So far I'm enjoying my vacation! It's nice to get out of the hot Florida sun, and into the cyber winter in Australia. Yes they are both my cars. The white car is one of the three Primadonna's built in the late 70's. The car is heavily modified in every aspect. Race prepped 355ci SBC, Borg Warner factory prototype 4 speed, Frank Leary built R200 posi., Full cage, Fuel cell, Datsun Comp suspension, AP racing brakes, Tilton pedal cluster, on board fire suppression system....etc. The body with the exception of the rear flares (came off of Don Devendorf's race car) was done by Primadonna. Mods are extensive and include a re-profiled windshield, rain gutter delete, light weight rear bumper, Aero nose, rear double stack wing...etc...etc. There is an interesting story about the Primadonna cars @ http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119098&highlight=primadonna that I will re-print here for your members if you have an interest. The Dark Blue car affectionately know as ZWOLF is based on a 1970. Again Heavily modified in all aspects. 383ci supercharged SBC, Methanol Injection, 700R4 w/reverse manual valve body, modified R200 posi, Oval exhaust, fuel cell, full cage, on board fire suppression system, Koni Coil over suspension w/camber plates, HRE Custom pin drive wheels...Etc The body mods include IMSA (Brad Frissell style) G nose widebody kit, Cowl induction hood, and F-40 (shopping cart handle) rear spoiler, European lights...etc The cars are a lot of fun and offer distinct differences in personality. Both cars are driven every week, and when the opportunity exist I take them to a show and share the fun of Z ownership with others. Quote
modular9 Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 I have drooled over pics of your car and similar ones for a very long time. If i had a 2 seater z ( 2+2 owner myself ) then I would be following a lot of the body style you have on your zwolf car. Best news is that you are out driving the cars as they were meant to be rather than cotton balling them up and turning them into trailer-queens. If you have any videos of your cars in action or even a start up then close up of your face grinning from ear to ear then post them up ! Gotta go and empty my drool bucket Quote
620Z Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Wow nice cars Roger. Always good to see a couple more nice V8 Zeds on the site. I have a V8 2+2 with 530bhp which is used mainly on the road but ocassionally on the track. I wouldn't mind seeing or hearing those on the track. Well done a lot of time, money and dedication gone into your collection there. Quote
stevo_gj Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Welcome to the site Roger, I read that Primadonna Z article on Hybrid Z awhile back and its great to see your active in the Z community. I'm only a new Z owner but I'm loving it so far, you should definitely do a write up for the front page! Quote
ZWOLF Posted July 30, 2008 Author Posted July 30, 2008 Hi, Thanks for the nice welcome, and comments. I haven't had a chance yet to do alot of exploring around the site yet, so I'm not exactly sure what the Front Page is just yet. Hopefully today I'll get a chance to poke around a bit, but I'm always open for ideas. Quote
Cdr Zero Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Hi ZWOLF, another welcome to Aus! Your cars are amazing, thanks for the link to the Primadonna history. Fascinating read, and he started off working off the kerb! To find the Front Page, just click on the AUSZCAR logo at the top. Quote
