Cozza Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 Hi Dazzed Picked up an old thread here, but I was Just wondering if you have had this problem again, or have you got to the bottom of the problem? I have recently bought a motor with a crank snapped in the same place as where you were describing. It was out of a rally car and the sump had been cracked and had lost oil but all the bearings were fine so I don't think the oil loss was the problem. It was running a solid balancer and a lightened 240mm flywheel with a heavy duty clutch but not sure of it's details. Any tips or advice what be appreciated. Cheers Mick Quote
NZeder Posted October 16, 2011 Posted October 16, 2011 The fix is simple and well known by now - or at least I would have thought. Don't run a 225mm or 240mm clutch setup period. Move to a twin place 7.25 or triple 5.5" titlon or equivalent get that weight of the back end of the crank. Forget the cost of these setups so you drop $1-2K on a flywheel/clutch setup vs how many rebuilds so far? Quote
