GregTas Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Hi, I'm after some strong U joints for the half shafts in by 240. People seem to think the Hardy Spicer ones are stronger. I found some discussions on here, but not part numbers. The HS catalogue has RUJ-2028 for the half shafts. Are these the good strong ones with no grease nipple? Are there any other good options? dat2kman Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 If they fit correctly, and have no threaded hole for a grease nipple to be inserted, then, yes, they are stronger. The threaded hole can be a stress riser, and can compromise the the joint. They will have torque limitations. Quote
Simestime Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 I went the same direction as you in search for hardy spicer joints. Apparently they dont make them any more and the set i got were in a spicer box but there was a grinding mark on the joint to take off the GMB branding,so spicer are in fact GMB japan joints these days. Mine have the grease nipples, same part no. Quote
GregTas Posted March 21, 2018 Author Posted March 21, 2018 Thanks Simestime. So the Hardy Spicer type is no longer an option. So I'm still looking for suggestions. Quote
