Anyone else getting fume problems in the Z ? i seem to be getting exhausts fumes into car when driving with the window down any way to fix this or just drive with windows up ?

Feature not a bug... you can minimise it, but part of the problem is the S30Z body design tends to cause turbulence around the rear of the car which allows the fumes to seep in via the rear hatch opening. Winding down the windows tends to make it worse.

There's a lot on this issue on the net:

Tail light seals

Hatch seals

Any other grommets etc that would seal cabin to atmosphere

Some say extend tail pipe or put a down turned tip on exhaust.

Of course make sure not running too rich as a start.

Tune, Hatch and tail light seals the first things to address - made a big difference to me.

thanks i think i may have to extend the tail pipe out then cause i don't seem to get any fumes in when i have the windows closed.

Check the seals first.

When windows down the cabin is low pressure (open windows drawing cabin air out - venturi effect).

Any gap or non-air tight seal at rear of car will suck the turbulent fumey air behind the car into the cabin.
