Wtb: 260Z Tail Lights Panels

Hi there,

 

I am restoring my 260z and looking for the tail lights panel - right and left

 

Prefer them to be in good condition with no cracks.

2 seater as per avatar? Or 2+2? Slight size differences between respective 2 seater and 2+2 tail light panels.

I've not had both styles together to compare but I once asked someone who did and he reckoned the 2+2 panels are about 5mm longer at the vertical straight end and another 5mm at the curved end; made no mention of difference in height so I presume none; can't verify those dimensions myself though. I suspect people in a pinch have found ways for one set to fit the other style car and vice versa, given that the lights themselves are the same.

Mine is a 260 2 seater.

 

There is a set of 2+2 tail lights panels for sale on ebay at the moment.

Unfortunately the sizes are different from the 2 seater ( I have compared them side by side).

Hi Simonmj,

For interest check out the WA car a 2+2 in blue with black stripes in the most recent of the cars for sale section of this forum. It has 2-seater taillight panels installed, and the length difference is just noticeable with the extra clearance at the curved end. Not a bad fit though, few would ever notice the difference.

Far fewer 2-seat taillight panels around than 2+2, there have been a couple of sets come up on eBay recently and they have sold for far higher $$$ compared to the asking prices for 2+2 items. I bid but soon gave up, too rich for my blood just to have spares. The rules of supply and demand...

I Just bought 2 off ebay, they are hard to find took me a while, so I just bought them as I needed them to complete my car.

Potter260 needed them more than me then and so a good outcome if it helps complete another car.

Mine were broken in many spot and held together with silicone

Like potter260 said, I hold mine together with silicone until a good set comes along.
