Fs: 40Mm Triple Dellortos Carbs Only. $600

Hey guys I have moved onto a set of solex carbs I need rebuilt so the dellortos have to go.

 

I'm chasing around $600, plenty of photos and info on the gumtree ad. $50 from the sale will be donated to this website. Willing to post at buyers expense.

 

I'm located in Mount Warren Park (near Beenleigh), QLD.

About to drop my Su's and manifolds off to be matched to the head work that's in the process of being completed now, so almost at the point of no return on carb choice (first attempt anyhow).

rebuild cost all comes down to if you can do it yourself or willing to or if you want to pay somebody to do it.

Thought you may have already done the figures as you brought them with the intention to rebuild.

 

Did a quick search and found a few rebuild kits but found none locally or any that gave me confidence it was a complete kit. (always had exclusions or a link to additional parts kit)

I've kinda given up finding a good second hand buy and secured a triple manifold yesterday. Probably going with 3 new webbers.

Had my webers rebuilt, balanced and tuned by an expert for $800 ish including kits x 3. I'd expect delortos would be very similar.

I can't see anywhere that I purchased these with the intent to rebuild..... They came with my car and I was holding onto them for a future L24 but now that I have secured a set of triple 40mm solex carbs I will be using those instead. As I mentioned before rebuild cost would depend on what you can do yourself or if you are farming them out to somebody else. I think that estimate of $800 could be close but I don't know, I can tell you that my 40mm solex are going to cost me at least $1200 to get rebuilt by one of the best solex rebuilders in the country and they are missing some parts and will look like new when done but in saying that I can't say the same will carry over to who you use to rebuild the dellortos. In saying that, to rebuild yourself I honestly think even with getting some new jets it could be done for less than half that cost but when asking for a price on a rebuild and not providing information on if you can do it yourself or are looking at a shop to do it I think my answer covered your question quite well or at least better than replying with "between $0-$100 000". 

 

You will be very hard pressed to find a set of used carbs that aren't sold with a disclaimer saying you should rebuild them, I think the only situations where they won't be sold with that disclaimer is when they have just been rebuilt or when the seller doesn't care.

 

Either way I am looking at splitting this up. I have put the other carb back together now so will sell it complete with the others a little further down the track.
