Administrators gav240z Posted October 27, 2005 Administrators Posted October 27, 2005 Originally sent via email due to site being down. Guys, Just want to know if one of you can point me in the right direction (or help me locate what I am looking for). By the way I would have posted in this question on viczcars.com but I can't connect anymore? Anyway. Attached is a pic from a 260z hatch area (car is currently on ebay.com.au). My 260z needs new seatbelts and I am going to use Lap Sash Retractable (Inertia Reel) type. But I need to level the strut towers. I have seen a number of Zed (260z 2 seater like mine) have these brakets (see pic not the best but you should get the idea). Most of these seem to be Australian modeled cars so any ideas on where I can get a set? Or could you help me locate some? Or a partnumber (I don't have a parts book) that I could check with Nissan locally to see if they can get them (don't like my chances). So I think a wrecker is my best bet. Any help would be greatly appreicated. Regards Mike Quote
NR240 Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I have seen this set up before. I personally don't like it. However, you will need to simply locate some inertia reels brand new from Repco or somewhere (Klippan is a known brand). Do not buy secondhand seatbelts i would never compromise on safety like this. You can fit them yourself to the strut tower tops. You might want to get an engineer to check that you have mounted this correctly, because if you are in an accident and they break off, then i dont want to see the result! Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted October 28, 2005 Author Administrators Posted October 28, 2005 Hey Nigel, This post is for Mike AKA NZeder I agree with what your saying and understand your concerns. I think he is after the actual brackets more than anything else. I myself I'm going to probably install racing harness's at some stage to go with my recaro's Quote
Toecutter Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I discussed this one with Mike on the phone. I've got a couple of parts to check out at Z Shop this Saturday so I'll check there and I'm going to see Warren from Zworx this Sunday. If neither of these guys can source these brackets then my guess is it would be quite hard tracking one down in Australia. Cheers Sulio Quote
Zeddophile Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 mine has those brackets.... i think it must be a later 260 thing (mines 3/76) Quote
Toecutter Posted October 28, 2005 Posted October 28, 2005 I met a fella in Oakleigh that just bought a 75 260 2 seater and it had the brackets so they must be around. Quote
Toecutter Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 No good at Z shop Mike. Did'nt get a chance to see Warren but I'm planning on dropping in tmorrw. Cheers Sulio Quote
Natez Posted November 2, 2005 Posted November 2, 2005 the brackets are late 280z bodied 260z's in australia... meaning late 75 onwards 2 seaters Quote
