Has anyone got a cam oiler bar that they would like to sell?

I decided to do a valve clearance adjustment as things were starting to get a bit tappy up top. I pulled the rocker cover off to find the rear part of the oiler bar had come off and was sitting in the back off the head. Certainly not ideal when the cam isn't internally oiled!

I don't think it makes any difference but it's for an E88 head on an L26.

In Perth would be helpful but willing pay for postage from wherever needed.

Thanks,

Graham

Pull it all off and look for an engineers shop that can silver solder it back into place.

Ask them to use toothpicks to align the holes up, with the other holes.

Vibration causes the ends to fall off.

These bars are getting hard to find, Nissan no longer has them. Some US shops may have stock, but it gets a bit pricey!

Sorry I'm all out, but they are crap anyway as Jason said they fall off! My 73 240z had the same problem, rear part fell off..

That's why I went for internally oil cam + towers..

Thanks for the tips. I was thinking that I may need to look at repairing the one I have. It has a fair bit of movement where one of the other pipes comes out of the mounting block at the front end too.

After looking around online, it seems they may have changed the design slightly on ater versions, and I came across various forum posts suggesting to find one of the later types rather than trying to fix an early type. Thought I'd just throw it out there on the off chance someone had one spare. I found this mob in the US that make their own which looks ok, but at $195US plus shipping, it might be worth trying to fix my own first.

And to add more pain, I've just been having a closer look at it, and the No. 4 exhaust cam lobe is stuffed, no doubt due to lack of oil. This lobe Is the furthest from where the oiler bar had come apart so that makes sense.

What to do now? Tempted to pull the head off and send it over to James for a new cam and a more substantial going over.

Yes, just for "reasons" I was thinking.

Its as good an excuse as any for a new cam and some head work. Hmmmm......this could get expensive......
