This is a much better option. As you can put it every where instead of select parts like it was done originally .

Hi Aircobra

 

The firewall insulation is in three pieces...even has the cut outs for the air conditioner hoses.... it's out of a 9th month 1973 car. I'll draw it full size on CAD and print off a template...I'll let you know when I've done it.

total champ, what material is it?

some people say - black painted cardboard, other rubber

definitely has some sort of wadding/jute/heavy foam on the back

are there some sort of clips at the bottom to secure the carpet?

The clips as shown.... the backing material is good old fashioned "gorilla hair" , faced with a heavy rubber like material .

The facing is 2mm thick and the backing about 10mm.

are kick panels the same material also? it looks awfully like cardboard or masonite
