ultrasuede Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 I know its been discussed before, but LED technology advances faster than rabbits root. Anyone tried one of the new LED headlight kits? Thoughts? Quote
nizm0zed Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 LED main headlights are coming out OEM fitment on vehicles now, i have seen a few trucks with them fitted. The difference at night both as a bystander and driver of said vehicle compared to the old incandescents is incredible. It would be very interesting to see how the aftermarket kids perform, I know the brand 'Speaker' (part of Phillips iirc) make some very good units, including items that are ADR arroved, however like anything there are always poor chinese copies. The LED's generate quite a lot of heat so they require a big heatsink, and they draw a decent amount of power too, so any aftermarket kit would need to address this in its design or fail in operation. Moderators PB260Z Posted January 30, 2016 Moderators Posted January 30, 2016 Hi. Something else to consider is the ADR side of things (if that worries you) The ADR's state that cars with HID lamps must have headlamp washers and I am pretty sure this the same for LED headlights I know most folks wouldn't be worries about that, but..........
