Stivva Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 They are a little different in design, but essentially the same style for $430 a pair. Has anyone seen these in the flesh? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CLASSIC-LOW-BACK-PU-LEATHER-BUCKET-SEATS-CAR-FIXED-BACK-BLACK-HOT-ROD-PAIR-/171909927047?hash=item2806a15087 I would be lying if I said I wasn't interested in seeing these in my car, if not for good, then just to see how they fit. Has anyone else seen any other seats of similar design? Quote

GongZ Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Low back seats in a 260Z? What about ADR 22 - Head Restraints? https://infrastructure.gov.au/roads/motor/design/pdf/22.pdf - applies to passenger cars manufactured on or after 1 Jan 1972 Quote
George Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Yeah, I wouldn't trust that seat with my little chicken neck. Quote
d3c0y Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) No better safety wise than the Japanese ones, but the looks don't do it for me. Edited September 8, 2015 by d3c0y Quote
Stivva Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 Apparently they meet ADR Standards? Quote
Stivva Posted September 8, 2015 Author Posted September 8, 2015 I would love to see them in person before I decide whether I like them or not. Quote
GongZ Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Apparently they meet ADR Standards? They might meet pre-1972 ADR standards - I can't see how they would meet ADR22 though. Their eBay listing says "GREAT FOR HOT RODS, SOFT TOPS, MINI'S AND JUST ABOUT ANY VEHICLE WHERE A COMPACT SEAT IS REQUIRED" - Hot rods and Minis might be alluding to pre-1972 cars? I sent them a question on eBay - I will let you know if I get a reply. Quote
GongZ Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Well they answered very quickly!!! My question to them was - "What do you mean by "Full ADR approval"? Do they meet "ADR 22 - Head Restraints" for vehicles made on or after 1 January 1972?" Their reply was - "Thanks for your message and enquiry with Original Parts Group. Our low back bucket seats meet ADR approval 3/03 for seat without head restraints. Full adr approval for this style seat." In other words - they are fully approved for pre-1972 cars only.
