Moderators PB260Z Posted August 12, 2015 Moderators Posted August 12, 2015 its a little to late for a spanner.........they are too far gone If they are indeed well and truly stuffed, maybe try a set of good condition vice grips. Just be sure to lock them on VERY tight then be as gentle as possible. Good luck Cheers Quote
74zzz Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 Yep ended up resorting to vice grips and will get the lines remade. Seals and pistons are rooted on both sides. Not a major drama....but something else that needs doing before the good stuff can start ie new triples and a forged bottom end. Quote
74zzz Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 Cheers Jason dropping them into Phil for a very reasonable price! Quote
dat2kman Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Yes, Phil Topfer shop! For future, if rounding flare nuts is a possibility, and you can, or should be able to "feel" a flare nut spanner starting to slip, STOP, and get down to a decent plumbers supply, or tool supply, and grab yourself a "Mini Stilsons" wrench, they are about 5-6" long, the jaws are designed to increase tightness as you increase force on the handle. A sharpish hit with your palm should release the flare nut. And if you are a tightarse cheapskate, do the buggered ones back up with the mini Stilsons!!! Quote
