locklock Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 sorry i had to start a new tread. Does 1972 240z originally comes with hazard light switch? I cant seems to find mine :-\ There is a empty button below the ciggy switch, Quote
GongZ Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Hello locklock, Australian 240Z's did not have hazard lights fitted (and maybe the UK cars, or even all exported RHD 240Zs, were the same). Your guess is correct, the unused switch position shown in your photo is where the switch should be added. Have a look at this topic where hazard lights are discussed; http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,8393.30.html All you need is the hazard light switch and a hazard light flasher relay. The photo below shows an early US 240Z hazard switch. There were two early rocker switch types and a later push/pull type, as shown on the first page of the topic I have mentioned above. Quote
locklock Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 Thanks gongZ! I'll go order one. Its this okie? Seems like it has less wires then the picture you posted in the other tread. Quote
GongZ Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Yes that should be fine. You just need the 6-pin connector your car. Because the US cars had a different tail light set up, they had the brake light circuits going through the hazard switch, which is why they had an extra connector. Quote
HS30-H Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Australian 240Z's did not have hazard lights fitted (and maybe the UK cars, or even all exported RHD 240Zs, were the same). By law, all official UK market cars would have been fitted with hazard lights. Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted July 31, 2015 Administrators Posted July 31, 2015 Maybe LockLock's car was originally a AU market 240z? I still scratch my head as to why they didn't include 1 in Australia. Quote
GongZ Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I still scratch my head as to why they didn't include 1 in Australia. I agree - its not as if they were an expensive component, and I think they are really important. I also wonder why the front side-markers/blinker repeaters were omitted for the Australian cars. Quote
locklock Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 According to the previous owner, the first owner was studying in uk and bought it back to Malaysia when he graduated. 2nd owner bought it during 1979 till now. Im the 3rd owner. Quote
