WTB: Speedo Drive with 20 teeth (RED)

Hi all,

Finally manged to track down an R200 4.11 diff, it is great but...... "I am sure wasn't going that slow officer"  will now be my response when next pulled over.

The 20 teeth will correct my speedo for new diff, i believe it is red in colour but i have never seen one, i cant even find a Nissan part number, maybe someone knows what that is too?

Hi,

 

20 tooth red speedo pinion is correct for the 4.11 diff. Once you jump up from anything 3.9 or below you will also need a new speedo pinion housing because the pinion for the 4.11 ratios and above is offset slightly different to the 3.9 and below.

 

MSA sells the pinion only. There is a red speedo pinion and housing currently on ebay however (I believe from the Z shop); if you don’t have the correct pinion housing then this is what you want.

Be careful with this, I got part numbers off the forum and they were all wrong.

I used my original carrier with the purple pinion (i have 4.44 diff) and it worked ok but i do have a F5W71C internals, not sure if that makes a difference.

I got from Chesapeake Nissan, however the red ones come up on eBay pretty regularly.

Thanks for the help, i was unaware about the housing, this will effect me too as i have shifted from the factory 3.7 diff

280zx (71C gearbox) had a 4.11 diff ratio from factory (I believe) so the speedo pinion housing which came from this box would have been correct for 4.11 and above ratios
