I had a conversation with Jeremy Banks (in Beaumaris) a couple of months ago - he seemed quite knowledgeable about 240z's.  The only others I found that got back to me and would be willing to take on my project (RB25DET into 240z) were Enkelman and Associates (Braeside), but I haven't spoken to them yet.  KatoKid was planning to use them though (http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,6400.msg123002.html#msg123002).

I spoke with Enkelman last week just to confirm nothing significant has changed with the introduction of NCOP and thye confirmed that as long as the car is pre 75 (ADR's) then no real issues. I didn't ask what the implications were for post 75.

RB240... I am doing the same conversion... And I have a 73 240Z...

I will check with Enkelman and associates...

I'm was planning on welding some longer rails from front to rear under the floor pan... And some stitch welding inside the engine bay and see if that was enough?

I think I want the 240z chassis to be able to handle between 350 to 500  at the engine, but want to know what I needed to do to be compliant...

Thanks guys

Jeremy didn't seem to think that many supporting modifications were necessary - just making sure the gearbox, diff, etc were up to the task.  I was only talking about a relatively stock engine, though.  The story may be different at those power levels.

That's what Enkelman said to me, no chassis mods required (stock M3 320hp) as long as the drive train and brakes were up to it

I am going 4 spot calipers (I think 4 spot Hilux units) and rear disc conversion rear (US purchase), I have an R200 LSD with 3.9, obviously an RB25det gearbox... (might go brand new from Nissan - $2800 - This way I know exactly what I'm getting)... and I have the mounts for the engine and gearbox sorted also from the US.

Still contemplating changing my drive shafts for CVs... Its an expensive exercise... Just not sure if the drive shafts will hold at least 400hp at the engine...  :(

I will still have a chat with the Enkelman though just to be sure?

Any idea what Enkelman charges for the Engineers certificate?

They told me it would be around $750 to $900 + GST.

My plan for the brakes is similar, except that I'll probably use R31 rear calipers.  Which mounts are you using?  What about the oil pan?

$1200 all up for me.

R33 GTST Booster/Master, front discs and calipers. R31 rear.
