Hi guys I am having trouble with door locks lately. I stripped the trim off and had a look.at the lock it was pretty stuffed, so I decide to look into buying some next locks. But my lock looks nothing like any locks I can find. Is the 2+2 locks differnt from 240z& 260z because of the extra internal door latch/handle.

If so where can I find a set ?

Or can I just swap the arms on the 260z locks

Thanks guys

yes they are different, i had the same issue when i bought some thailand locks from ebay and they were completely wrong.

If it was anything like mine, the slot in the tang that the lock barrel sits in has worn away over time and it just slips and wont turn the tang.

What i did was weld up the holes and try my best to re make the keyway for the barrel to fit in.

only other option is try and find someone wrecking a 2+2, but ive been to a few of them and they are all pretty much stuffed.

I have ordered a new set of 260z locks from my local Autopro hopefully I can swap the arms over. Failing that I will cut the arms up and tig them to work ???

Ok so no surprise that the 260z locks I ordered where not the same as the 260z 2+2 locks But !!!! If you are capable of using a welder this can be an easy fix. Cut the new arm weld on the old. I will do a full HOW TO on the weekend and post it up because I am sure people will benefit from it.

Hey guys,

First thanks for the How to, I had a look at it this morning and might have to do the same.

As a side question, could you use the standard 260 locks if you didnt want to use the 2nd handles in the 2+2?
