Hi guys.

I am in need of a brake booster for my 73 240z as mine has a major air leak and the pedal sucks down.

Chances of finding a good one would be slim, does anyone recommend a place in Melbourne who would rebuild one?

I have called the local ABS shop and also asked a smaller local brake and suspension joint and they both don't rebuild them, ABS saying there is no rebuild kit available for the 240z.

If anyone has had theirs done, could you point me in the right direction.

Alternatively if anyone knows what the nissan part number is for a 73 240z/74 260z booster i could order one online from the USA.

Thanks.

gday mate

i am in the same boat(73 240z, shot brake booster) but in nsw,  i rang Burt bros  last week and they seemed happy to rebuild(they are in fairfield sydney) so ill be taking mine to them, hopefully this week, if you have no luck in vic i guess you could courier it to them or some such. ill post up once mine is done so folks can know.

Power Brakes in SA also offer great services for rebuilding classic car parts (I think they quoted $400-ish for a 260z rebuild) - they also have every brake fitting imaginable.

Thanks for the help guys. Z shop has offered to rebuild mine for $350 which i think is pretty fair.

Tai - They sell new ones at ABS Richmond

I got a new unit for around 300 bucks - Might be worth just doing that.
