Karljsw Posted January 31, 2015 Posted January 31, 2015 Hey Guys, I have made myself up a coloured wiring diagram for the car and have managed to label almost all the bits and random wires. However I'm not sure what these two are? I gather this one is a resistor as it has what appears to be 100 Ohms printed on it. Would this be the speedo resisitor? Then this one has Kanto - Seiki Japan 21600-AJ5015 on it. I have no idea what this is? Any ideas/ help will be much appreciated Old mate Google hasn't been the most helpful Cheers Karl Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted February 1, 2015 Administrators Posted February 1, 2015 Might be oscillator box for rally clock Pretty sure you're joking, but I can confirm it most definitely isn't. Do you know where it was mounted? I can't recall ever seeing 1 of these on my 240z, is your car a 260z? Or 280z? (S31?) with fuel injection? Quote
Retro Z Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 It's a non factory Ammeter Shunt. Located opposite the alternator and under the voltage regular box in engine bay just above the frame rail. Original one as pictured. Quote
Karljsw Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Thanks for the replies guys. Forgot to add what they came off lol. They are off an S31. resistor looking one is the non-factory amp shunt/ resistor (thanks Retro Z and NZder) the box one is sounding like a speedo buzzer (Thanks again NZder). Just have to figure out where the shunt/ resistor goes now as the plug appears to have been cut off... Karl Quote
Retro Z Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Just have to figure out where the shunt/ resistor goes now as the plug appears to have been cut off... The plugs will be where the wires branch off to alternator and voltage regular. The wires are 2x thick and 2x thinner white with red stripe. Inline and about half a meter foward from the fusible links, it then travels to the dash mounted Amp gauge. Quote
