Administrators gav240z Posted November 6, 2014 Administrators Posted November 6, 2014 Must be a common thing to break these, I did it also. Trying to break a 20 year gasket seal . I'll have to re-tap mine, but on the underside of this is a sealed area and I'm worried about metal shavings when I drill it out and re-tap the thread. If you figure out what kind of adhesive is used on the underside and how to remove the old stuff let us know? Quote
zeds4ever Posted November 7, 2014 Author Posted November 7, 2014 Hi Gav, guess you still have the cover off , if so you are better to remove the cover plate that is fitted inside which is secured by a number of small self tap screws to remove these just place phillips head screw driver in slots & lightly tap head of screw driver to loosen screws. I found a lot of gunk inside this area. I believe the product you use to re-seal the plate is called "Davcon?". Have fun . Regards: Alan. Quote
