Casper the friendly ghost Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 What paint type and brand would be best to paint on suspention parts.. Like the the front and rear crossmember Quote
WA240Z Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Hi there, For great finish, suggest having them sand blasted and then powder coated. Had mine done last year, cost around $100-150 I think from memory. If you are going to do it your yourself, the KBS Coatings chassis kit. Its a three step process. This is was what I had planed on using until I got lazy. Colour for either option, satin black. Quote
Casper the friendly ghost Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 Cool thanks Won't powder coat it, because I use the car everyday so it will be a weekend job Have to remove the rear crossmember to replace the insulator that's when it will done [/img] But thanks. Will try and post pic later when I do it.. I forget to take pic in the heat if the moment Quote
Riceburner Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 VHT do an epoxy paint that is hard as hell, it's actually designed for use on suspension components. I used it on my wheels and it has held up very well. Quote

d3c0y Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 I use KillRust on everything, easy to paint, super shiny and available in multiple colours. I've done all my suspension, diff and engine bay in it. Quote
EVIL_denver Posted July 3, 2014 Posted July 3, 2014 Yeah i had the same problem about 6 months ago. They had a labelling mistake and after i notified KBS about it they sent another tin and it was a Satin finish just bought KBS rust seal (satin black) from a mob in campbellfield... its actually gloss black. They offered to replace the lot, even though i used 50% of one of the tins Quote
fluegel Posted July 4, 2014 Posted July 4, 2014 The quick and easy way is to use Hammerite it will go over rust but you need to brush it as it doesn't spray . I used it for my recent rebuild of the suspension of my 260. Richard http://www.hammerite.com.au/ Quote
